I just came here to post again cos im watching the ren ci hospital show. I really admire the ming yi fa shi's courage for doing this. i mean like, it's not his job to do this, but he still willingly challenges himself every year. and especially when many singaporeans are treating this as some sort of fun entertainment. even though i dont like buddhism or even support it, it's really heart-wrenching to see him do this kind of thing. actually, we're lucky he doesnt go "i dun wanna do this anymore cos nobody bothers anyway". oh n i feel like some of the artistes are very fake. like they just say n say but they dun do anyting. i mean of course i dont support doing this kind of dangerous thing. so then, y must people suffer to help other people? it's like people only call when the artistes do something that might endanger their life. look at the amout of calls when they r doing something no very physically or psychologically demanding. its just really horrible. n mayday said that this is the first time they saw something like this. y? its because in singapore, we actually need these shows to make people help the needy, whereas mayb in other places its all voluntary. so wat do i conclude? that singaporeans r just so ...... im not generalising singaporeans as a whole, just that group of people who take but dont give. so there, my thoughts on charity shows in singapore.
